Toast All Day Founder and Owner Sam Mustafa Opening New Toast Location on Upper King – As Seen in the Post and Courier

“Toast All Day- AND in the Evening”- Sam Mustafa

Did you hear the news? Toast All Day®, AKA your favorite southern brunchery is coming to Upper King! We’re getting ready for endless mimosas, brunch ALL DAY, and charming southern hospitality. This new addition to our brand comes with the same concept you know and love- just with a few new cheesy menu items. Can you guess what they are and more importantly, are you ready for it?!

To learn more about our new Toast All Day® location and how it happened, check out this interview with the Post and Courier below:

Recently, the Post and Courier spoke with  our CEO Sam Mustafa, who also founded our parent company, Charleston Hospitality Group, about this new and exciting concept.

On February 1st, 2022 Charleston Hospitality Group recently signed the lease for the former Monza Pizzeria located off 451 King Street according to Jim Moring, with restaurantbrokers.info, who handled the transaction. This will quickly be turned into Toast All Day® making it the 2nd location in downtown Charleston.

The pizza concept will not be lost however. Included is the restaurateur’s ideas to continue serving pizza in the downtown experience – what locals and visitors have grown to know with Monza Pizzeria in business for 13 years. Rather than redesigning the full interior, Mustafa will be incorporating the pizzeria with Charleston Hospitality Group’s “Toast All Day” concept utilizing the turnkey setup. This will allow the location to open up sooner, provide more jobs and give more food options to the downtown guests just in time for the Spring tourist season.

The unique concept will be to incorporate the Toast All Day® menu items during the day and eventually adding in the pizza options in the evening. CHG is always creating new menu items, marketing ideas and location concepts to cater to what the guests want, yet providing a unique dining experience they may not have expected. Aiming to open in a few weeks if employment positions can be filled, this will be a new twist to the Toast All Day® brand.

Sam Mustafa is not new to the hospitality industry. As a restaurateur himself, he opened his first Toast location 17 years ago also located in downtown Charleston just blocks away off lower Meeting Street and is still open and operating with great popularity and success. These Toast locations are also surrounded by his other restaurant and entertainment brand venues including Elis Table, named after Sams son and also located off Meeting Street, John King Grill and Bar known for its great drinks, food and dueling piano shows nightly Wed-Sat and Queology which is an award winning BBQ location at the end of Market Street near the cruise port. Along with these, CHG also owns 2 Toast locations in Mount Pleasant, 2 in North Charleston and Honky Tonk Saloon in Ladson known for its great line dancing, shows and nightlife.

With now having 2 Toast locations in downtown Charleston, some may think this would not make sense to have them just blocks away. However, it’s a brilliant idea because most of those visiting downtown are locals living close by or visitors staying at local hotels just steps away. Charleston, being a walkable city, these two Toast locations will make it easier for the guests to walk to each location nearest to them to experience what Toast is known for: great breakfast, cocktails, shrimp and grits, brunch items and, of course mimosas! Now, Toast on King Street will incorporate pizza into the menu adding more food offerings. This may just be the beginning of the next great idea from Sam Mustafa and the Charleston Hospitality Group.
